Scene 12
assassination
My concern
Caliban murders Prospero. However When Caliban faces Prospero’s body, he realises how much he loved Prospero. There was conflict and hatred between them, but they had lived together before Prospero realised Caliban’s affection for Miranda. Fortunately, Prospero already recognised Caliban and Stephana’s plot and gave Caliban illusion. What Caliban kept buttering was Prospero’s shadow.
Caliban tries to kill Prospero but he can not, because Prospero has monitored him.
It is based on original story. However I am concerned possibility that this scene may be seen as supporting surveillance society. Personally, I get increasingly anxious about Japanese government’s surveillance. Internet society allows government to check every word in our emails and comments on SNS. If Japanese government would restart suppress of free speech as they did during World War Second, cyber space would be the perfect place to hunt ‘political criminals’.
