My Story

​

I was born in Japan,  grew up in Japan, and worked as  a singer, dancer, actress, theatre director, producer, writer and etc. in Japan.

Since I can remember, I love dance, music and drama. Yes, I love musicals! Musical plays always fascinate me. I grew up with Disney's and Holly Wood's musical movies, and have been longing for West End and Broadway. I still love both. But now I found I'm too old and too Asian to join western musical industry...unfortunately.  

However, studying vocal performance and Theatre Arts in London made me realise that I can create new theatre performance as an Asian woman with frustration.

I don't have long slim legs, but those legs know how to move quietly and smoothly. 

​

I can't sing out like musical actresses in West End, but lovely Japanese melodies are within me, and I can share it.

​

I don't have a life rich with possibility anymore,

but I became more open and more sensitive to other's pains, through my experiences.  

Now I'm making physical/music theatre productions, using the extract of Japanese traditional/folk dance and song, and fusing them to contemporary theatre arts which I'm studying now.
